Introduction to Stuffkeeper
In Stuffkeeper you catalog your stuff by defining types yourself. This way the list will only contain the values you think are important. For those thinking this might be too much hassle (which it is not) Stuffkeeper comes with some predefined types for the most common things like Audio CD's, DVD's and Book.
Stuffkeeper can handle several Types at once. Just create some types you need and when you add entries to your database, you can tell Stuffkeeper which group it belongs to.
Apart from types, Stuffkeeper knows about tags. Every item you add to your list can be associated with as many tags as you want. Of course in the manner of Stuffkeeper's flexibility (Remember the 5 F's?) you decide which tags you need. Just go ahead and create them.
The Main Window
In this example screenshot you see a typical Audio CD Layout as it looks in my case.
For Audio CD's i use the tags system as a Genre Browser which comes in very handy to find similar artists.
You can check a type in the little checkbox. Stuffkeeper will only show items of the types checked.
If no type is checked, all items are shown. Neat, huh?
The Type Editor
If you think creating your own types sounds complicated have a look: Its dead simple to
create the type you need for your items
Once you have seen the different type properties in action you will instantly remember what they do, promised!
The Tracklist
See the nice tracklist? You can import those from a txt file, which makes adding lists much easier. Combined with our neat freedb tracklist retriever script (Get Title List from Freedb easily), this will surely make the time easier, until Stuffkeeper has plugin support.
